"Fat, Happy and Fabulous"

A few weeks ago I was contacted by the ever so lovely, writer Therese O'Neil, who has commented on my blog for a while, as she was writing about plus size bloggers for an article that would be in the New Zealand Sunday Star-Times Magazine. I was so honoured and happy to be able to talk about plus size fashion, what punk means to me and how I deal with cruel comments.

Click on the pictures to enlarge them! Or you can read it without the pretty pictures over here.

Two other bloggers were also interviewed, Meagan Kerr and Whitney Fulton who runs the excellent POC Fat Fashion. The gorgeous Meagan was even on the front cover of the magazine, looking like a complete rock star!

If you're here because of the article, welcome, I hope you like my little site, its mainly full of my outfits, ideas and personal style.

I'd love to know what you all think of the article.

OotD: Birthday Madness

Its my birthday!

I am 24 years old, so I put on a neon pink dress, petticoat, backcombed my hair to hell and channeled a gender bent Joker from Batman.

Pink Ice Cream Dress ~ SimplyBe
Mint Petticoat ~ Domino Dollhouse
Lace Cuffed Bike Shorts ~ Allihalla
Graffitti Socks ~ ASOS
Dolly Shoes ~ Demonia

Pierrot Necklace ~ Tatty Devine

I had a nice day today, it was very low key and relaxing. I had a picnic in the park with my mum and the dogs (including our new arrival!), went shopping and we're having a Chinese takeaway tonight. Not bad, not bad. I'm not really a party or going out type, personally as I don't drink and my anxiety makes large groups of people a little uncomfortable.

One of my birthday presents was some lovely acrylic drawers from MUJI, I spent most of yesterday organising all of my make-up in them. This inspired me to put some slap on for the first time in so long, I am feeling green eyeshadow though with how long my green fringe is my eyes did disappear a little.

I've only had this dress for what feels like years, yet this is its blog debut. It is of course on of the blogger designed dresses for SimplyBe by the amazing Lauren over at Pocket Rocket Fashion, who was one of the first blogs I ever read and she inspired me to start this blog.

My purple lipstick, green eyeshadow and hair made me think of the Joker, while my dress and shoes made think doll. So thus I did a lot of silly faces and poses because I may be 24, but I will still pretend to be a demonic doll/evil clown at the drop of a hat.

Does any remember my ootds from way back in 2011/12? I'm having hair flashbacks!

Yes, backcombing is back in my life. I'm pretty pleased with it, I'm not usually much of a hair styler, especially seeing as I am just waiting till my hair is long enough to put into pigtails or braids.

I would apologise for the amount of pictures, but I am into myself today and vanity should be celebrated. Love yourselves, ladies, gents and distinguished readers!

My mother is taking me to IKEA tomorrow and I'm getting a full length mirror, this may mean far more (very lazy) posts as I won't have to badger any of my family to take my pictures. Or at least a lot more selfies!
