Weekly Wishlist: Skulls & Leather Rock n Rolla

I am sick as a dog right now, but at least I have just about enough wits about to make a wishlist.

I've noticed recently that I am really reconecting with my alternative/gothy roots. When I discovered body positive fashion/fatshion I went pretty high femme with it because that's what I saw most of online, plus it was an interesting way to express myself that I'd never encountered before. I believe my first post on here had me wearing neon pink! As much as I can appreciate that, I think my personal fashion tastes are returning to the dark side. So a wishlist in which I celebrate skulls & leather, my two favourite fashion trends right now.

The rollerskates are thrown in because I want to learn so bad, that I've signed up for newbie classes at a roller derby league! Wish me luck. :)

A Brand New Fatshion Challenge Marvelous Mondays!

Welcome to Marvelous Mondays, a new weekly blog challenge between myself and Jocelyn at Fat, Fashionable and Feminist. Make sure to go check out her outfit today, too! We'll both be creating marvelous outfits based around a certain item or theme every Monday.

Our philosophy: Monday is nobody's favorite day of the week, but maybe its terrible reputation is a little undeserved. We're on a mission to make ours (and hopefully yours) a little less awful by dressing marvelously!

This week's theme: Pleats!

Leopard Print Top ~ Doris Streich (Bought at Helen Winterson's)
Pleated Black Skirt ~ ASOS Curve
Star Print Tights ~ Marks & Spencers
Double Zip Boots ~ Evans
Leopard Print Scarf ~ Vintage (My Nain's)
Brimmed Beanie ~ Its so old I cannot remember!
Brooch ~ Made by me
Lipstick ~ Rosary by Kat von D

Pleats made me think schoolgirl, sweet or sailor for some reason and I decided to go in the opposite direction with a more modern, urban look. Can't wait to see what Jocelyn has though of. :)

I was in a foul mood today, so I tried to cheer myself up with silly pictures! Oh and as you can see my tights have ripped already! M & S thick tights are great, but these thin ones are rubbish, almost £10 for one wear!

My hair is so faded! Aaargh!

Hope you guys like this new venture! Remember to check out Jocelyn's blog here.

If you have a fat fashion blog and want your Mondays to be marvelous, too, feel free to get in touch with us via email about the possibility of joining our weekly blog challenge!

Wishlist: Lazy Edition

I feel like absolute crap this week. I think the only things that would help are more art supplies, things to read and obnoxiously bright jackets, thus this wishlist came to be.

I'm a bit bummed that the Hobbit Moleskines aren't out until the end of the year though as they look breathtaking. (At least not from this website, I might need to research this a little more.)

How are you? What would make your week better?

Inspiration of the Week: Lauren Zuniga

I'm not in a place mentally to get dressed up at the moment. Especially seeing as our house is being rewired so my clothes are all over the place and its super dusty at the moment, so I'll be doing some different blog posts for a little while.

I've been wanting to do an inspiration of the week post for ages, I think it'll be a fun thing to keep track of seeing as I am inspired by thousands of disparate things.

This week I've been listening to poetry a lot. I'm a huge fan of slam poetry and I really discovered and follow it through youtube as I don't think there's a big poetry scene in my city unfortunately.

Laura Zuniga is an amazing poet, who I first found on youtube after listening to Andrea Gibson (who is also absolutely fantastic) and having youtube recommend Lauren. I also follow her on tumblr.

Confessions of an Uneducated Queer.

I feel like the last few years I've fucked up a lot. I dropped out of university, I failed tonnes of classes, I've lost a few friends, I've drifted away from people, I feel like my mental health has been declining, I broke my ankle, I moved back in with my parents. But on the other hand in the last few years I've learnt a lot just not in the conventional manner. I don't have a certificate in trans* 101, white privelege, gender and sexual minorities, modern feminism or body acceptance, but I feel like I know myself and I know so much more than I ever have before. This poem really speaks to the part of me that is always fucking up in a million different ways, who has internalised misogny, homophobia, transphobia and racism, all that crap that society throws at us, but also to the part of me which challenges all those things and tries to be better.

I would really recommend you look her up on youtube, a few specific recs are: To The Oklahoma Lawmakers, Women Behind Bars, Girl:Exploded, Personhood.

Hope you all enjoy this post.

OotD: This is Halloween, This is Halloween!

Ramone T-Shirt ~ HMV
Black Skirt ~ Next (Very old!)
Black Petticoat ~ Domino Dollhouse
Orange/Black Knee Socks ~ ASOS
Creepers ~ Undergound UK
Spike Headband ~ ASOS
Bracelets ~ Topman (£1 in the sale!)
Black Lipstick ~ Pristine by Illamasqua

I dyed my hair!

I am also stating the obvious! Haha, I've been in such a rut lately and I've always thought changing something about the way you look can kick you back into action. So I stripped the horrible brown/red in my hair and slapped on Special Effects in Napalm Orange.

After putting a few pics of my newly orange hair while wearing black lipsticks a few people said I looked like halloween, so I decided to play up that idea! I have never worn these socks before just because I felt they were too halloween, but fuck it, I think they match my hair quite nicely. :D

This is an ok-ish representation of my hair before I stripped it. I used Decolour Hair Stripper, which if you have short hair I would recommend, but with hair my length I needed three boxes, which is expensive as each box is £13! I needed to get rid of the colour and it didn't damage my hair like bleach would have, but I wouldn't do it too often because of the price.

I planned on just something unnatural and bright, so often I go back to "normal" hair colour, but it just isn't me, so now I'm dying my own hair crazy colours. Plus its cheaper than salon dyes!

Bonus pictures that I put up on tumblr:

While I do feel a little better, I also feel a little strange, days seem to be going so quickly. Hopefully I'll get back into the swing of blogging, the problem is when you're out of the habit, then it can be very difficult to remember to work at it.

Hope you're all ok, my loves. :)
